Victoria Park closed to cricket this weekend

Due to an expected protest at Victoria Park this weekend (26-27 Feb) have been shifted all game to alternative grounds and our clubrooms and indoor school will be closed all weekend.

We have made this decision based on advice from NZ Police, prioritising the health and safety of our members, staff and visitors.

It will come as no surprise that Grafton United Cricket Club does not support the use of Victoria Park for this protest. Alongside Auckland Cricket, we had booked the Victoria Park sports fields. It is very disappointing that this protest has forced cricketers off our home field.

Though, it must said that the experience relating to the protest in dealing with Auckland Council, NZ Police and Auckland Cricket has been excellent and we have commended them for their proactive communication and support in response to this disruption.
