Junior Coach
- Lead the development of our junior and youth cricketers
- Develop Grafton’s age and stage cricket coaching programmes
- Run our in-school engagement programmes
- Manage and train our volunteer and academy coaches
- Support club management in the running of the club

The opportunity
Grafton United is Auckland's central city cricket club and has a proud history that dates back to 1862 and is known for its modern and innovative approach to developing cricket within the inner city and central west suburbs.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Junior Coach to lead in the development of Grafton’s junior and youth club programmes to further expand our reach within our community and help our members to realise their cricketing potential.
The Junior Coach is responsible for:
- Participation - provide opportunities for all players to be able to access cricket at a club
- Engagement - work with the local school to embed cricket within the schools sporting framework
- Community growth - promote and grow the awareness and adoption of our cricket programmes through out the community, including with local iwi and hapu
- Junior coaching programmes - coach and run the club’s junior coaching programmes
- High performance - develop Grafton’s high-performance academy programme
- Coach development - ensure the ongoing development of Grafton’s volunteer coaching team
The role will report to the Club Manager and work alongside other club coaches, Premier and Senior Coaches. It will have responsibility for managing the development of the club's young talent programmes and pathways.
As the ideal candidate, you will have a strong cricketing brain, a good coaching skill set, will be able to connect with players to help them realise their potential. You will have coaching experience and/or a relevant qualification and a desire to further develop your skills and qualifications with Grafton. Excellent people and organisational skills are required along with the ability to communicate on and off the field.
