In memory of Avon Cook

It is with sadness and fond memories as we report the passing of our oldest living Grafton'er, Vice President Avon Cook ONZM, who passed away yesterday. The club is represented at his funeral today by Jeff Meltzer and, our now oldest member, Mike de Lautour.

Avon features in our archives with four 7 wickets bags and plenty more memories and wickets to boot. Here we see him being presented with the Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the manufacturing industry by Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy in 2017.

We raise a bat in honour and fond memories of Avon and wish his family our best. A valued member of our club and the community.
